Heinz-Uwe Dettling was a founding partner of OPPENLÄNDER Rechtsanwälte in 1998 and headed the health law team there until 2018. From 2018 to 2024, he built up the life science law team at Ernst & Young Law GmbH. As a lawyer, he has been providing comprehensive advice to clients for over 30 years on issues relating to pharmaceutical, medical device, pharmacy, medical, and hospital law, as well as on the drafting and negotiation of complex contracts. He successfully represents clients in enforcing their rights before authorities and courts, up to the Federal Constitutional Court and the European Court of Justice. For more than five years, Heinz-Uwe Dettling has also been intensively involved in artificial intelligence law and digital economy law—areas in which he is considered a pioneer.
In addition to his legal practice, Heinz-Uwe Dettling is also active in academia: He teaches health economics law, AI law, and digital economy law at the University of Hohenheim and regularly publishes in specialist journals and anthologies. He is also the editor of the second edition of the commentary on the German Medicines Act published by Wolters Kluwer and co-editor of the commentary on hospital law (BeckOKKHR) published online by Beck Verlag.

Rebekka Reckel is an experienced lawyer and consultant in the healthcare sector. After studying law at the Ruprecht Karls University in Heidelberg, she gained extensive experience in operational clinic management and management consulting after initially working as a lawyer in medical law.
While working at HELIOS Kliniken GmbH, where she was assistant to the regional management and also responsible for the strategic and economic orientation of the region’s medical care centers, she established the hospital consulting division as a partner at EY Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft before moving to Roland Berger and Kienbaum.
Her focus is on hospital law and statutory health insurance law. Rebekka Reckel combines legal expertise with strategic and operational experience.

Ocka Anna Böhnke is a lawyer with a doctorate and a licensed physician with in-depth expertise in pharmaceutical and health law. After completing her dual studies in law and human medicine in Hanover, she has been contributing her medical and legal expertise to her work at leading law firms and companies for almost 15 years now.
At Oppenländer Rechtsanwälte in Stuttgart, she was primarily involved in advising pharmaceutical companies, physicians, and pharmacists on regulatory, social security, and professional law issues.
In her subsequent role as in-house counsel at a large international pharmaceutical group, her consulting focus was on value and market access, including benefit assessment procedures and price negotiations. Ocka Anna Böhnke supports our clients with sound, practice-oriented legal advice in a dynamic and regulated environment.
